We want to see peace in Africa

Congo is a country with the greatest diversity of ancestral cultures. This diversity is not the result of chance, but of the accumulated harvest of thousands of years of cultures living side by side. And this diversity is not only done in purely human terms, but also in the presentation countless living species living alongside humanity.
We see as a divine providence that the continent that gave birth to humanity is somehow still the purest in environmental terms. The ancestral cultures that have survived in Africa have taken care to leave a legacy of respect for other living species. Across the African continent, there are lessons on how to take care of our living neighbors, plants and animals. Through these teachings, humans are constantly reminded that they are not the only ones to count in the great book of life. In fact, this anthropocentric way of thinking is seen by many African cultures as a sure sign of social decline. Why is paradise always represented as a place with plants, trees and rivers? Is it not because humans can only project themselves as part of the fabric of life? Many African teachings emphasize that violence between humans is a consequence and not a main cause. The consequence of the non-respect of other species, which creates the ground of mental imbalance which is expressed by violence. The Torah passages recounting the story of Noah and the flood remind us of this. Among the commands given to Noah and all of humanity, it is forbidden to consume blood, which means the obligation to treat humans with compassion. If this is not done, the consequence is that the blood will be “asked” from the one who spilled it with contempt. This being “demanded” blood only means that the consequence will be, that violence will be visited and unleashed among human beings. If we are to see peace in our lifetime, we must make the necessary efforts which carry within them the blessing of peace. Among these efforts, the main ones concern the treatment of other forms of life with dignity. Only then will the blessing come upon us as a species to bless a dignified peace. Unfortunately, many living things that share the planetwith us are disappearing at an alarming rate.
