Letter to the President Baba Buhari

Baba, first thing let us say FJN is always in advance. We warned everyone about the destructive danger of IPOB and separatist agitations. Let us make this very clear.
We are against separatism anywhere in Africa whether it is IPOB or Polisario or Tigray, FJN has no sympathy for any organizations who agitate to put new borders between African people. Secondly FJN does not get involved in electoral politics anywhere in Africa. And we have great respect for Baba Buhari and his Vice-President Mr Osinbajo.
We understand the need to make Nigeria safe and stable and keep it united as one country. Now we heard about the situation in the synagogue of Ogidi and wish to address it.I was several times in Ogidi and I have many wonderful Igbo friends who think like us.
The coordinator of the Ogidi synagogue Lizben is our friend. From what we heard she was waiting for the arrival of a Sefer Torah. That is a hand written scroll of the Hebrew Bible. It was donated to her congregation in Ogidi. It was supposed to be an important event for the synagogue. We understand people came from Israel to film the event and who were curious about African Jews, a rarity for outsiders. Malicious people connected to the proscribed IPOB tried to use this event in order to cause confusion, and also discredit the Ogidi synagogue, by making the false claim on social media hat the arrival of the Bible scroll was meant to give Nigerian Igbos the status of Israeli citizenship. This of course is completely crazy. This crazy claim was a deliberate attack from IPOB, against our friends in Ogidi to cause them trouble. Because the Ogidi synagogue refuses to follow IPOB or any separatist organization. Because of these false claims made by IPOB followers on social media Lizben was taken for questioning by law enforcement officers.
She will be soon released as it should be clear that she has nothing to do with the IPOB miscreants who set her up in a very cynical way, since as an FJN member, she openly opposes their position. FJN is known to be against separatism. We condemn any form of separatism on the African continent. Read our articles they are unequivocal.
We believe any agitation for separatism can only come from enemies of Africa.
FJN was among the first to warn people about the contagion of anti Fulani racism in the Sahel countries, and about the dangers of hate speech on social media. Igbo, Yoruba, Fulani and Hausa are members of one family , the Nigerian family. Religious diversity constitutes the cultural riches of that family. FJN repeats many times this theme. We are militant for a United and borderless Africa. We Africans want unity.
Dear brothers and sisters let us say this again: from IPOB to Polisario to the Tigray separatists in Ethiopia, agitations for secession anywhere in Africa is the work of those trying to break apart the project of our unity as Africans. FJN is one of the most vocal platforms against separatism. We were among the only ones who consistently warned the public on these issues. Years ago FJN already joined in partnership with Fulani cultural associations to warn about the rise of physical and verbal violence unjustly targeting Fulani people from Burkina Faso to Mali, while no one else was paying attention. Where is everybody else? We created an interfaith peace price. To honor Jews Christians and Moslems who work for peace between religious communities. Where is everybody else?
Why is it only FJN who does this work? But we will continue because we know this is what African people need. We need to be in solidarity with the entire continent and with respect for territorial integrity of each country. We need to win the fight against separatism.
