Gal Gadot is not a historian

Cleopatra was not Macedonian, never.
Gal Gadot would do better to learn from African historians instead of telling untruths that infuriates all of Africa.
Millions of Egyptian, Nubian and Amazigh girls have just been stripped by Israeli model and actress Gal Gadot from their link to one of their greatest heroes, the legendary queen Cleopatra of Egypt. Gadot who has been chosen to play the Queen, responded to questions about perception of her in this role, since the actress-model has a European look, by stating a historical blunder saying Cleopatra, known as Queen of Egypt was in fact from Macedonia. She did not say the Queen had some distant Macedonian origin, but that she was Macedonian i.e. European, i.e. white.
Gal Gadot is not a historian. Unlike Cleopatra Gadot is only famous for her looks.
Cleopatra was an African Queen and international stateswoman.
It would have been an insult to tell the Queen of Egypt that she was Macedonian. Even though she had some ancestry going back to mix marriages of Egyptian royalty with Alexander the Great generals, she was not Macedonian. She actually fought the Roman Empire which saw itself in the role of Greek cultural domination.
It should not be difficult to understand, even for someone who is just a model and an action actress, especially when they are going to play that part.
Maybe Gal Gadot even has enough intellectual capacity to understand that her remarks could be hurtful to millions of African girls, by claiming that African history belongs to non Africans ? This is called colonial revisionism. But this concept might be challenging to grasp. However there is some decency expected from people who play superheroes and who say they want to inspire little girls to achieve greatness.
By having a dismissive attitude and a white superiority snappy behavior when it comes to racial sensitivity. Gal Gadot does not play an inspiring but a self serving careerist role.
She could have said that she has middle eastern ancestry but chose to say that Cleopatra was Macedonian which in this context means white.
The implications of such attitude must have totally evaded the model.
Walking the catwalk and smiling before a camera in a green room does not demand intellectual or empathy efforts. Making fortune from fans should raise the bar.
But Gal Gadot proves that she is not white, by how much efforts she does to be accepted as one.
