Last night / this morning, the leaders of the Beta Israel community in Kechene Ethiopia are facing violent threats of physical attack because of their visibility as members of the Kechene Beta Israel Jewish community. Other leaders we have been working with them are likely facing similar threat. Any pressure by international Jewish organizations? Or police protection outside their doors tonight. If the US government could reach out to the Ethiopian government to say that it wants to make sure that this community stays safe.
