The public school and its staff must be protected, not only by speeches but
also by the reaffirmation and full defense of their statutes. The FJN expresses its horror at this assassination and addresses its thoughts to its relatives, colleagues, students and family. The pain of losing
a loved one, a teacher, a colleague is unbearable, especially in such conditions.
Teachers need to be able to address the various curriculum topics in class using the teaching aids that seem relevant to them without having to fear reprisals, let alone threats to their lives. As such, all teachers
show solidarity with those close to our colleague, his family, his students, his colleagues.
