Death of Salomon Takka: anger yes, violence no.

Following death of Salomon Takka, a 17-year-old black Jew, was shot dead by a policeman
in the neighborhood of Kiryat Hayim in Haifa and in the current climate of tension that raises fears of new violence during demonstrations, the FJN distanced itself from the excesses.
The FJN calls everyone to the measure and rejection of all forms of violence that engender
the worst drifts of which Israeli citizens are the first victim. We believe in democracy and the violence that we see exercising for many days now is in no way legitimate
Our call is clear and explicit to calm and respect the democratic framework. Nothing justifies violence in a democracy. The real strength is the massive support of population for a fight  right.
Those who exercise the highest responsibilities need courage and discernment.
All actors of the public debate, political leaders, trade union leaders, editorialists and
citizens, are accountable for their statements.
Dialogue and listening must find their place in Israeli society.
