Behavioral disorders in religious Jewish adolescents

In the Jewish tradition, study is an indispensable and inseparable element of ritual practice. Judaism is a system that placed the value of a human being not on the level of his results, therefore on the level of his power, but on the level of the meaning he had within a History. It was not enough to have values, you have to be in a position not to lose sight of them on a daily basis, and able to make them applicable. The educator whose responsibility is to accompany this child in his development, will have to learn to know the deep nature of this soul entrusted to him to ensure his well-being. These behavioral disorders include all of the symptoms: “attention deficit hyperactivity disorder”
-Notion of adaptation
It is the set of psychological and social means that allow the person,
due to one or more functional limitations, to lead as independent an existence as possible. » Community adaptation emphasizes the participation of the living environment (family, neighbors, etc.).
The semiological study brings together the association of three symptoms:
1. Attention problems
Attention disorders are considered the pathophysiological basis of the syndrome. They include difficulty concentrating, the child is parasitized by distracting elements, he misplaces his belongings. This represents a great difficulty in his learning.
2. Motor Hyperactivity
Motor hyperactivity is described as disorganized, unconstructive, and poorly coordinated gross activity. The child is noisy and clumsy, he cannot play alone. Risk-taking is illustrated by continual wounds.
3. Impulsivity
Impulsivity is defined as the imperious need to accomplish an act, the impossibility of postponing a desire, it is at the origin of the rejection of the teenager by his entourage. It disrupts his motor functioning by his impatience and abruptness and his cognitive development by the difficulty in anticipating the consequences of his actions. The teenager constantly interrupts conversations and interferes in the discussion of adults, he cannot wait his turn in games, he abandons an activity before having finished it. The organization of his work shows an absence of strategy and an inability to plan his projects. He is intolerant of constraints and reacts aggressively when frustrated. He seems insensitive to rewards and punishments. His mood is also subject to sudden changes.
These three symptoms lead to a dysexecutive syndrome.
Executive functions refer to the set of processes necessary to perform complex tasks. It is the ability to inhibit automatic responses, to select and develop a course of action, to maintain a goal-directed course of action, and to check the appropriateness of a sequence of actions. action.
The daily accompaniment of a person with behavioral problems leaves family members little respite. It may happen that they need to free up time for different reasons (health, travel, need for respite, etc.). Reception structures must be developed to relieve those around them and allow them to take care of themselves. Parents of a child with a disability not allowing access
regular class education often use this type of establishment.
Reception facilities adapted for these children and adults. But this should be different from a Yeshiva. It is the Commission for the Rights and Autonomy of these Persons which should decide on the orientation. If the orientation decision is made towards the protected environment.
