Aggression of Rav Shlomo Bistritzky

FJN condemns the anti-Semitic aggression which the chief rabbi of Hamburg was the victim. Man of a rare open-mindedness,
Rav Shlomo Bistritzky is well known to the FJN because he counts among our supports of the first hour. The rabbi is a man of peace and dialogue who dedicates his life to the service of others. He has developed a culture of peace, tolerance, dignity and respect in his community.
The FJN sees a worrying resurgence of anti-Semitic acts in this city, which once was a haven of peace. Faced with the rare, and often lenient, sanctions against the perpetrators of anti-Semitic acts, FJN calls for a strengthening of the criminal arsenal. The Hamburg government should take responsibility more against the anti-Jewish hatred taking place in Europe. These acts are the consequences of political laxity. Hamburgers are waiting for real measures and real sanctions against the perpetrators.
