A man of dialogue dead : Theo Klein

Theo Klein is one of the major figures of the Jewish community. Lawyer at the bars of Paris and of Israel, former Resistance member, he was president of CRIF (Council representative of the institutions Jews of France) between 1983 and 1989. He had the qualities of a person showing great tolerance, showing interest, curiosity and understanding for ideas that differ in part or entirely from his. We had the opportunity, on several occasions, to appreciate the intellectual qualities and moral of this great connoisseur of the Jewish World. His professionalism, his availability, his listening skills and his exemplary openness will cruelly
lack in this disturbing period of mounting racism in the Jewish community. Through his commitment, he was constantly concerned with his friends.
Heirs to a traditional view of Jewish history, he had a authentic critical and scientific spirit that sends back to back extreme theses for the benefit of a happy medium, sometimes difficult to hold, because of the easy and combined attack of the ideologues.
His presence was not confined to the courtrooms. He willingly participated in symposia and multicultural meetings. Ensure the continuity of essential missions while opening new projects. Faced with the void left by the disappearance of this demanding man.
with disappearance, Frabce loses a man of dialogue and peace
He is the author of several books, among others: Manifesto of a free Jew, of Small ethics treaty and in a good mood and to Leave the ghetto (Liana Levi, 2002,2004 and 2008).
